How the Camelot wheel is organized

Camelot notation assigns every standard major and minor key a number from 1 to 12. The A lane represents minor keys and the B lane represents major keys. The same key-to-code mapping, left and right neighbors, and A/B relative pair are deterministic music-theory rules.

Use compatible keys as a starting point

Same-key, adjacent and relative-key transitions are usually useful candidates to try, but the wheel does not guarantee that two tracks will mix well. BPM, arrangement, tuning, bass movement, key changes and style still matter. Listen to confirm every transition.
